Who are our service providers and consumers?
The business question Who are our service providers and consumers? highlights how organizations provide business services and consume business services. Review the business service ownership in IT departments as well as the distribution of the business service consumption across organizations. This business question helps you recognize dependencies, hedge risks, and plan for back up options.
The license package Enterprise Architecture Management is required to work with this business question.
Use the method that is most convenient for you:
- In the left navigation panel, enter Who are our service providers and consumers? in the Search Navigation field.
 - In the left navigation panel, click Home. In the content area, go to the Business Questions page and click the tile for Who are our service providers and consumers?
 - In the left navigation panel, expand the sections Business Questions and Business Relationship and click Who are our service providers and consumers?
 
The number is based on all business services provided by/consumed by the organization or any of its subordinate organizations. One business service can be consumed by multiple organizations so that the total number of consumed business services can exceed the total number of business services present in the service portfolio.
Point to a doughnut slice to display a tooltip with the number of business services owned by a specific organization. Double-click a doughnut slice to open a data workbench showing all business services owned by the organization. You can edit a business service's Provider directly in the data workbench.
- In the Providing Organizations or Consuming Organizations doughnut chart, double-click a doughnut slice to open the Business Services data workbench. The data workbench displays all business services owned/consumed by the organization.
 - Edit a business service directly in the data workbench or select a business service and click the 
 navigate button to open it's content area 
Use the features of the data workbench to slice-and-dice your data to focus on data and do the analyses you are interested in:
- Click Structure and add or remove columns to the data table. Include relevant attributes and indicators to capture important data. A tooltip explains the purpose of each attribute, indicator, and role that you can add.
 - Click Visualize to view the data in a different graphic visualization. You can save these visualizations to your content repository and used them in other content area pages.

Business services and organizations must be in the repository. For each business service, an organization providing it and consuming it should be assigned.
Go to the Data Quality page and resolve the issues to ensure that the data is complete.
Go to the Data Source page to review the business services and organizations that are used to answer the business question. The data source is a list report and cannot be edited.
