Database administration tasks

As a solution designer, you are changing the configuration of Alfabet. This solution configuration is stored in the Alfabet database separated from object data. But with your configuration, you might even change the way object data is stored in database tables in the Alfabet database. You are usually configuring in a solution environment, with a copy of the production database. After configuration is done, your changes need to be applied to the production environment without changing the existing object data. Alfabet Expand offers mechanisms to export the configuration independent from the object data and merge it with the configuration of a target database. Moving data and configuration object from one database to the other is one of the administrative tasks involved in solution design.

In addition, any anonymization activity, either for removing data about a single person from the database or for anonymizing complete data for any object class requires pre-configuration in Alfabet Expand.
