Which business areas require the most IT support?
The business question Which business areas require the most IT support? provides a snapshot of the as-is application landscape organized according to the business processes they support.
Identify application-dense business processes and understand whether redundant applications can be rationalized. Review where application support is missing for critical business processes in order to identify potential risks early.
Use the method that is most convenient for you:
- In the left navigation panel, enter Which business areas require the most IT support? in the Search Navigation field.
 - In the left navigation panel, click Home. In the content area, go to the Business Questions page and click the tile for Which business areas require the most IT support?
 - In the left navigation panel, expand the sections Business Questions and Transparency and click Which business areas require the most IT support?
 
          
 
A nested matrix shows the as-is application landscape organized according to the business processes they support. Here's how to interpret the information:
- The first-level business processes are shown on the top of the column.
 - The second-level business processes are shown as grey boxes below the parent business process.
 - The grey boxes contain the applications that support the business process.
 
If you have the relevant access permissions, you can edit the business processes and applications in this business question.
- To edit a single business process, double-click the business process in the matrix to open its content area.
 - To open a data workbench to edit all business processes, click the 
 edit button > Edit Business Processes. Use the features of the data workbench to slice-and-dice your data to focus on data and do the analyses you are interested in. - To edit a single application, double-click the application in the matrix to open its content area.
 - To open a data workbench to edit the applications providing a specific business process, click the edit element in the business process.
 - To open a data workbench to edit all applications, click the 
 edit button > Edit Applications. 
Business processes and applications must be in the repository and well-documented. The following data is required in order to have meaningful results for the business question Which business areas require the most IT support?:
- Application > Provided business processes: Specify how each application supports the business processes.
 
Go to the Data Quality page. The Data Completeness view indicates the data that is recommended for meaningful results to the business question. Scroll to the Pending Issues view to resolve the issues and to ensure that the data is complete.
Go to the Data Source page to review the business processes and their supporting applications that are used to answer the business question. The data source is a list report and cannot be edited.
