Create a custom theme
- Go to the Reusable Elements tab in Alfabet Expand.
- Right-click the User Interface Themes node and select Create New Theme.
- In the attribute window, set the attributes of the custom theme:
- Name: The name you enter will be visible in the explorer in Alfabet Expand and in the Custom Themes functionality on the Alfabet user interface. The name is a technical name and it is recommended not to use white spaces or special characters in the Name attribute.
- Caption: The caption you enter will be visible to users in the drop-down list for selection of a custom theme in the user settings on the Alfabet user interface.
- Customer Configurable: Set this attribute to True if you want administrative users to be able to change the custom theme settings on the Alfabet user interface in the Custom Themes functionality.
- Active: Set this attribute to False during the configuration activity. The custom theme is then hidden to users in the selector for custom themes in the user settings on the Alfabet user interface.
- Default: For a new custom theme, this attribute is set to False. This setting cannot be changed directly in the attribute window. Follow the proceedure described under xxx if you want the custom theme to be used as default for users who did not actively select a custom theme.
- For each style group you want to customize for this custom theme, right-click the node of the custom theme in the explorer and select Add Style Group.
- Expand the custom theme node and the nodes of the style group and click on a leaf level style group to edit it. Only the Value attribute can be changed. To change an image, open the editor of the Value attribute, select the icon gallery containing the image and then select the image from the icon list. To change a color value, open the color selector and select a color.
- Click the node of the custom theme and set the Active attribute to True. Users can now select the custom theme to render the user interface with the selected colors.
- To test the custom theme, log in to the user interface. Click your user icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select User Settings. Select the custom theme in the Current Theme field. click Update. The custom theme is applied to the user interface. You can test your settings and alter them if required.
