Create an evaluation type

  1. In the left navigation panel, expand Configuration and click Evaluation Types.
  2. Click the Evaluations root node of the explorer.
  3. Click New > Create New Evaluation Type and define the evaluation type:
    • Name: Enter a name that is easy for users to understand.
    • Short Name: Enter a short name with up to 5 characters for the evaluation type to display in small labels for graphic visualizations.
    • Technical Name: Enter a unique technical name for the evaluation type that has no whitespaces or special characters.
    • Description: Add a description to inform other users about the purpose of the evaluation type. The description is displayed as a tooltip in the Evaluation view.
    • Is Global: Set the checkmark if the indicator types of the evaluation type are global indicators and computed via object-independent computation rules.
    • Add to Content Repository: Set a checkmark to add a card displaying multiple indicators of the evaluation type to the content repository. This allows a user to display the indicators in a content area. Be sure to specify the relevant fields in the Visualization tab described below.
    • Visualization tab: If the evaluation type has been added to a content repository, select a widget in the Indicator Group Widget field to generate a grouped card. Only indicator types with an icon definition will be added to the card. Configure cards to display indicators in content areas The definition of an icon gallery is currently not applicable.
    • User Profiles tab: If you select user profiles in the list, all indicator types of the evaluation type will only be available in the selected user profiles. If you do not select any user profiles, the indicator types of the evaluation type are available in all user profiles.

During configuration of the indicators for the evaluation type, you can restrict the evaluation type to the Portfolio Admin user profile and test them in the architecture information sections in this user profile. You can later remove the restriction to make the evaluation type available for more user profiles.
