Which business capabilities have applications that can be rationalized?

The TIME (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate, and Eliminate) report helps you to identify where costs can be optimized for a business capability. Review the business and technical scores of the applications providing support to a business capability to understand whether it is best to keep an application, invest in the application, consider the application as a migration candidate, or sundown the application. Compare the recommendations that were made for each application with the real-world business and technical scores and consider which applications may qualify as candidates to invest or retire in order to meet rationalization goals.

  1. Go to the business questions What are my cost drivers? and click the  Filter local filter button.
  2. Focus first on the less critical business capabilities which are shades of green. Double-click the business capability you want to understand and go to Application Context > TIME Portfolio Analysis.

  3. Click the Filter filter button in the TIME report and set the Object State field to Active.
  4. Review the recommendations to invest in the business capability. Focus on the red bubbles in the Tolerate and Eliminate quadrants and consider whether those applications deserve further investment.
