Analyze the strategy from vision to strategic theme
Alfabet 's strategic portfolio management gives a company a disciplined way to connect its daily work with its long-term vision and goals. Computation and analysis is available at all levels of the strategy to measure the potential contribution of each aspect of the strategy to achieving the corporate vision. The Strategy Network view is a network diagram that shows your company's strategic intentions articulated on a high-level and the strategic themes aimed to realize the company's vision.
To understand the overall strategy network, go to Investment Architecture > Strategy Network and click the root node of the Strategy Network explorer. Click the Strategy Network page in the content area to view the network diagram. Here's how to interpret the information:
- The network diagram shows the relationships in the strategy. Starting on the far left, visions
, their goals
, the goals' objectives
, and their strategic themes
at the most granular level. - Each connecting line between two nodes shows the weighting of the contribution of the child node to its parent node. For example, a connection with the number "25" between a strategic theme and an objective indicates that the strategic theme contributes to 25% of the objective.
- Review the strategy network to understand which strategic themes make the highest contribution to an objective. Consider which strategic themes are most relevant to work on. These are the strategic themes that you may want to create a project in order to realize the strategic theme.
