Add the guided data view to content areas and editors

To make the guided data view available on the user interface, add the relevant attributes for the guided data view in the class settings of the object class the guided data view is designed for.

  1. Go to the Presentation tab.
  2. In the explorer, expand the nodes Class Settings > the object class you would like to edit.
  3. Click the class settings you would like to edit and set the relevant attributes:

Whether your settings are used as default for all users or for users logged in with defined user profiles only depends on the definition of the class settings for which you are configuring the object class properties.

    • Guided Data View: Select the guided data view from the drop-down list.
    •  Default Object Navigation View: Select whether a user will see the class-based content area ( Analysis View in the user interface) or the guided data entry view ( Data Entry View in the user interface) when navigating to an object, for example, from a data workbench.
    •  Hide Edit Button In GDV Config: Set this attribute to True to hide the Edit button from the content area. The user then needs to use the toggle switch to open the guided data view to edit the object. By default, the attribute is set to False , and an Edit button is shown in the class-based content area in addition to the toggle switch for opening the guided data view. The Edit button opens an editor. The user can either set data in the editor or change to the guided data view via the button below the editor fields.
