Settings required for dark themes
For use of the standard dark theme as well as custom themes of type Dark, make sure that your configurations for customizing the user interface are compatible with the dark mode:
Dark themes should only be used with a preconfigured Alfabet 11.9 solution. Customers having customized the solution with configured reports would need to adapt all colors defined in the reports to colors working with both dark and light themes and would need to change all images to SVG silhouette images, which is a huge effort.
- If you are creating a custom dark theme, check that all colors defined for styles are in accordance with display on a dark background. This includes the colors for the masthead and navigation in the Global style group and upload of a custom logo that is visible against the dark background.
- You should use SVG silhouette icons (with a single color) for upload of custom icons which you want to use in configurations, like preview images for content items in content areas or custom class icons . The SVGs can then be colored differently for each custom theme. For preview images in content items, you must define use of a style for changing the color per custom theme.
- Revise the icons used for display of indicators, display of enumeration items, and in configured reports, for example when using an icon rule in the report configuration. These icons should use colors visible against both dark and light background.
- Revise diagrams to show colors for connections and elements which are visible both on dark and light background.
- Revise configured reports based on diagram items, like node arc reports and grid reports, and configured reports with color definitions as part of the configured report and color rule definitions to show colors for connections and elements which are visible both on dark and light background.
You can use the Alfabet parameter @CURRENT_THEME in queries to refer to the current theme selected by the user at runtime and define different coloring per custom theme.
