Add existing assets to the diagram
When you design a diagram, you will typically add diagram items such as applications and components that exist in the repository to the diagram. The diagram items that you can add to the diagram are displayed in the left sidebar in the diagramming tool.
- In the left panel, select the diagram item for the asset type that you want to add and drag it to the canvas area.
- In the selector, define search parameters and select one or more assets you want to add to the diagram.
- Click the Save button to save your changes.
- When you add a diagram item to the diagram, the focus will be on it and it will be selected. If you add multiple assets at once, they will all be selected. Click anywhere in the canvas area to clear the selection. Now you can move and edit any individual diagram item.
- If information flows already exist between applications that you add to the diagram, the information flows will be automatically displayed as arrows. The arrow will start with the application that is the source of the information flow and point to the target of the information flow.
- To change the size of the diagram item, click it to display its handles. Drag any handle to the appropriate size.
- To move a diagram item in the diagram, click to select it and then drag it to another location on the canvas.
- To edit the basic attributes of an asset in the diagram, right-click the diagram item and select Semantic Actions > Open Editor. If you have the relevant access permission, the editor will open and you can edit the asset.
