Define a guided data view

  1. In Alfabet Expand, go to the Presentation tab.
  2. Right-click the Guided Data Views node and select New Guided Data View.
  3. Set the attributes:
    • Name: Define a technical name for the guided data view to identify the guided data view in explorers and selectors.
    • Group: If you want guided data views to be structured in folders in the explorer, define a folder name the guided data view should be available in or select an already defined folder in the drop-down list.

The Caption, Description, and Format String attributes are currently not in use.

  4. Add content for editing data to the guided data view:
    1. Right-click the guided data view node and select the option Add Property Group Item to add a property group, Add Graphic View Item to add a standard Alfabet view, Add Report Item to add a configured report, or Add Data Workbench Item to add a data workbench.
    2. Click the content in the selector and click OK.
    3. Optionally click the new content item node and define the attributes:
      • Caption: Define the caption of the content item. By default, the caption defined in the added configuration object is displayed.
      • Height: You can change the default height to enlarge the content item.
      •  Visibility Conditions: If you want the content item to be only visible under specific circumstances, you can define a condition element testing whether the specific circumstances apply. You can then select the condition element in this attribute. The content item will be visible if the condition applies. For example, a condition specifies that the content item shall only be visible for users in user group B. The condition checks the user group configuration for the current user at runtime and hides the content item if the user is not a member of user group B.

The Sort Grouped Properties attribute and the settings in the Content Item Previewsection of the attribute window are not functional for any content item in a guided data view.

      • In the toolbar, click Save  Save_Expand.
