Select data for update of Alfabet asset data
Go through the imported data and decide which CI class data you want to merge in the Alfabet asset data. There are a number of different import operations you can select from and assign them to each ServiceNow CI asset data:
- Once: Import is done once and the import operation status is cleared after import. This method of import is recommended if Alfabet is the primary repository for the asset.
- Periodic: After import the import operation status is maintained, and the object data is included in each recurring import action. This method of import is recommended if ServiceNow is the primary repository for the asset.
- Ignore: The object is ignored and never imported to the Alfabet asset data.
- Skip: The object is not imported unless the import operation status is re-set
- Map: Do not use. This import operation status is no longer used.
Go to Integrations > ServiceNow.
For each asset class that can be synchronized with ServiceNow, there is a sub-view showing the ServiceNow raw import data imported to the Alfabet internal ServiceNow data repository. Click on the heading of the relevant view to open it. There are two ways to set the import operation that shall apply to data:
- If you want to map only for a small number of ServiceNow CI class objects, select the checkbox of one or multiple rows in the table. Click the three-dots menu and select Set Import Status. Select the relevant import status.
- If you want to map most ServiceNow CI class objects, click the three-dots menu and select Set All. Select the relevant import status. The status is applied to all objects in the table. You can then select objects that shall have a different status and select Set Import Status to change the already set value.
To remove an already set import operation, select the checkbox of the ServiceNow data, click the three-dots menu and select Clear Sync Operation.
