Align your contracts with your IT

To work with the following capabilities in Alfabet, you must have a license to Contract Management. The use case Contract Library must be enabled. This use case includes the classes Contract, Contract Item, and Contract Group and the business question What is our vendor roadmap?

Align your contracts with your IT assets. Define contract deliverables for contracts and contract items and assign the architecture that is delivered by the contract. A contract deliverable could be an application, component, business service, support service, physical server, and virtual server that the contract or contract item provides. Track the number of licenses/units provided for the contract deliverables. Detect lifecycle conflicts between contracts and the assets delivered by the contract.

Optimize the use of your contracts. Track and plan contract usage. Bring various organizational entities to the same preferred, contracted architecture elements.

Here's how you can begin:

NUMB_1

Document the deliverables required to fulfill a contractual agreement as well as the architecture elements in the IT landscape that consume the contract deliverables.

NUMB_2

Review the period of validity of the contracts and the lifecycles of the applications, components, business services, and support services that are specified as the contract deliverables. How long are contracts available for the organizations that are the buying or providing architecture elements targeted by the contract deliverable. Which contracts are relevant for a planned architecture change such as the sundowning of an application?

Understand which contracts are associated with a particular vendor and ensure that license usage is in line with the contact deliverables.
