Discontinued availability of .NET remoting
All processes are exclusively managed by event queueing. The Alfabet Web Application writes the events in the queue and the Alfabet Server processes the events read from the Alfabet database. A direct connection between Alfabet Web Application and Alfabet Server is not required to process the events.
Synchronous execution of ADIF jobs from the Alfabet user interface and sending emails directly via the Alfabet Web Application is no longer supported.
Changes to the Alfabet Components:
- The options to create a remote alias have been removed from the Alfabet Administrator.
- Command line tools cannot connect to an Alfabet Server with a remote alias. You must run them with a server alias directly connecting to the Alfabet database.
Fields removed from the server alias configuration:
-
Overview tab: All fields required to manage the connection between server and remote components.
- Host
- Port
- Server
- Is Remote
- Ensure Security
- Application Server tab: This tab has been completely removed. ADIF jobs and update of workflow templates are executed exclusively by the Alfabet Server.
