Improve the quality of your data
Data quality assessments are available throughout Alfabet FastLane to ensure decision-making is based on reliable and precise information. Each user has a dedicated view listing the data quality rule violations for the assets that they are responsible for with links that open the location where the data quality issue can be fixed. Click Data Quality Issues in the left navigation panel to open a report listing all areas where you can improve the data for the assets that you are responsible for.
Alfabet FastLane enables you to view your data and assess the data quality at every stage of your work.Data quality issues are highlighted directly in the data workbench and content area so that critical information can be fixed via inline editing right on-the-spot. Dedicated data quality reports are also available for every business question to ensure that the value of your data is understood when making strategic decisions about the IT.
Data quality assessments are available to all users, regardless of access permissions. Users will only be able to correct data quality issues for assets if they have relevant read/write permissions. Right after the data is changed, the data quality rules are recalculated immediately and the data quality scores are updated in the user interface.
Check the quality of the data displayed in the data workbench. Select one or more assets in the data table of a data workbench. A colored border is displayed around the table cells for the data that does not meet data quality standards. Point to the cell to show a tooltip about how you can improve the data quality.
Check the data quality of all assets in a data workbench. In a data table, click Visualize > Data Quality. You will see a report showing all data quality issues for the assets in the data workbench (including data currently hidden via filters). To limit results to a specific issue type, click the Data Quality Settings button and select a data quality rule group. The quality severity can be sorted or filtered to show the most important issues first.
Expand the rows showing a warning or error in the Quality Severity column. To correct an issue, click the link in the Resolution Hint column. The link will take you to the view where the issue can be fixed. Once you fix an issue, click the back arrow in the browser to return to the data quality report.
Check the data quality for a specific asset. In the data table, click the Navigate button for the asset to navigate to the content area. Go to the Overview page to see a colored border around all attributes with a data quality issue. Point to the cell to show a tooltip about how you can improve the data quality.
Go to the Data Quality page to view the data quality report including data quality issues which need to be solved in one of the views available in the content area of the asset.
Check the data quality for all data used in a business question. In a data table for a business question, go to the Data Quality page to view the data quality reports.
