The following is introduced to the Alfabet solution configuration this release.
Ideas portal for strategic portfolio management
To support earlier-stage innovation and demand intake processes, Strategic Portfolio Management has been extended with a new Idea phase that precedes the creation of a formal demand. Ideas constitute lightweight predecessors to demands, allowing organizations to document, assess, and prioritize opportunities before committing to the full demand management process.
Ideas can be captured in the new data workbench via Investment Portfolio > Ideas Portal where organizations can collect ideas from various sources. An idea can contain key information such as its priority, target date, and the benefits of the ideas. Users can rate ideas, whereby all user ratings are averaged to generate a score for the idea.
Once an idea has gained traction and been approved, a demand can be created based on it, allowing it to seamlessly enter the standard planning and execution lifecycle. A new Assigned Ideas view in the demand content area ensures that relevant users understand a demand's evolution. This approach helps organizations to promote innovation, improve demand quality, and ensure that only sufficiently evaluated initiatives progress into the portfolio management process.
The license package Strategic Portfolio Management is required to work with ideas. The use case Demand Management must be activated.
