Apply workspace configurations

Workspaces are currently only available for XML objects. They will be available for other configuration objects in future Alfabet releases

If your configuration is based on one of the predefined Alfabet solutions, you will see the configurations for the predefined configuration under a sub-node Workspaces. The Active Workspace attribute of the XML object shows you which workspace is selected. This configuration of that workspace is identical to the current configuration stored in the XML object.

Alter the pre-defined configuration. If you double-click the XML object and alter it in the editor, the workspace assignment is removed and the Active Workspace attribute is cleared. Your configuration is stored as the XML object configuration and also in a workspace called Custom.

Revert to a workspace configuration. Right-click the node of the workspace you would like to revert to and select Set workspace as active definition. The XML object is overwritten with the configuration of the selected workspace. Your configuration is still available in the Custom workspace and you can use the same mechanism to load it back to the XML object.

Upgrade to a new Alfabet IT Transformation Server. If you upgrade to a new Alfabet IT Transformation Server release, you can decide during update of the meta-model whether you want to re-scan workspace configuration. If you re-scan the workspace configuration, all workspaces are upgraded to current changes in the configuration, if applicable. The changes in the pre-configured solution will only overwrite the XML object if the Active Workspace attribute of an XML object is set to one of the pre-defined solution workspaces. If you are currently using the Custom workspace configuration, the changes in the standard workspaces only change the workspaces, but the XML object configuration is not altered.
