A prioritization scheme is a weighted composite of a set of evaluation types. A prioritization scheme is typically used to determine a prioritized ranking for a set of objects, for instance during budgeting and prioritization of projects. Prioritization schemes are also implemented to define the axis of a portfolio.
You can create or edit existing prioritization schemes. Youc an change the evaluation types assigned to them or adjust the weighting of the evaluation types. The value for a prioritization scheme is calculated as the sum of the indicators divided by the sum of the weight. The sum of the weights must equal 100 for each prioritization scheme.
Create a prioritization scheme.
- In the navigation pane, expand Configuration > Reference Data > Reference Data page.
- To create a prioritization scheme, go to Prioritization Schemes - General.
- Click the
plus sign button > Create Prioritization Scheme and specify a name to display on the user interface. Or select an existing prioritzation scheme in the table to edit it. - Navigate to the content area for the prioritization scheme. Add or remove evaluation types as needed. Click the Edit Weighting button and adjust the weighting of the indicators by dragging the slide rule in the appropriate direction. The sum of the values must equal 100. You can lock any one of the weights by clicking the lock icon. The lock is red when activated and the weight will not automatically adjust when another weight is modified.
Assign the prioritization scheme to implement it in the user interface.
- To implement a prioritization scheme for project ranking, go to the Prioritization Schemes - Projects view and add the relevant prioritization scheme. It will be available in the Prioritization Scheme filter in Project Ranking view in the project bucket content area.
- To implement a prioritization for another class, assign it to the relevant class in the Class Configuration > Class > > Prioritization Schemes view. The prioritization scheme can be implemented in a custom report.
- To implement it in a portfolio, create a portfolio and add the prioritization scheme to it.
