Improvements

The Diagrams node in the left navigation panel has been renamed to Analysis Tools and provides access to the new Reports functionality as well as storyboards and ArchiMate diagrams.

New filters are available in the Architecture Data Completeness view that is displayed via Home > My Dashboard. The view can be filtered based on data quality rules and object classes. An additional filter allows all classes to be displayed when filters are set for data quality rules.

An Object State filter has been added to most views showing application lifecycles. This includes, for example, the Provided Applications - Lifecycles view in the content area for a business capability as well as similar views in content areas for organizations, locations, vendors, business processes, application groups, physical servers, virtual servers, and vendors.

In previous releases, an application used by organizations was specified via the reference array property Using Organizations (SAG_Organizations). This has been replaced with Alfabet's standard concept to create business supports.

A new Business Supports data workbench is available that allows the business supports to be easily created based on the three dimensions of providing application (Application ), provided business capability (Domain:BusinessCapability ), and using organization (OrgaUnit). Relevant views and business questions have been updated to reflect the renewed concept.

To migrate existing business supports based on the Using Organizations (SAG_Organizations ) attribute, trigger the ADIF scheme DataMigrationBusinessSupports . A business support will be created for each existing triad application - business capability - using organization. Business supports for which no Providing Business Capability attribute was defined will be automatically added to the Business Capabilities explorer under the node Business Support without Business Capabilities where the incomplete business supports can be easily corrected.

The Using Organizations (SAG_Organizations) attribute has been removed from the application content area and will become obsolete with Alfabet release 11.9.

The Application Manager and Technology Manager user profiles have been enhanced to allow assets to be displayed based on the concept of role type.

In the Application Manager user profiles, the Authorization node allows users to display applications in the Applications data workbench based on the user's authorized user group affiliation. This has been extended so that now the applications can be shown in the data workbench based on a user's role types. The new Role Types field in the editor includes all role types available for the class Application.

These changes are also applied to the Technology Manager user profile where a user can specify to view components based on their role type affiliation.

A new Change Layout button is available in the Data Roundtrip capability in the Portfolio Admin user profile. The functionality allows you to open the diagram designer to redesign the visualization and layout of the data roundtrip. You can move nodes around via drag-and-drop as well as use all style options such as shapes, text, color, and borders.
