Define a data workbench
Data workbenches are the main workspace for editing multiple objects directly in a tabular view. Next to editing capabilities, data workbenches provide visualization capabilities. Users can create own reports about the objects in the data workbench.
When you define a data workbench, you define which objects are displayed in the data workbench. You do not define which object class properties are available and editable in the data workbench. The availablility and editability of object class properties is exclusively managed via the unified access permissions in the class model. Click here for a description about how to manage editability for object classes and object class properties.
Users can define at runtime which object class properties, indicators, and roles shall be included in the data workbench they are working with. This configuration is stored for the user only. As an administative user, you can store the data table of the data workbench that you have defined as default for all users. This is done directly on the Alfabet user interface.
Users can create their own reports from the data in a data workbench. You can add additional reports
The definition of a data workbench can include the following:
The data workbench configuration defines:

This configuration is optional. Users can create own reports from the data in the data workbench on demand. In addition to this reporting capabilities you can create configured reports and add them to the data workbench to provide advanced reporting capabilities. |

Define editability and availability of object class properties and button interactions. |
This configuration is optional. The editability and general availability of individual object class properties in a data workbench cannot be defined separately but is identical to the overall availability and editability of the object class properties for the user interface. The access permissions are defined in the class model and the class settings for the object class. |
Add the data workbench to the user interface. |

Define a default layout for all users. |
