What is the status of our project portfolio?

WhatIsOurProjectPortfolioRoadmap

The business question What is the status of our project portfolio? supports project planning and monitoring. The visualization highlights the overall time schedule, the achievement of project milestones, and the interdependencies between projects. Review the projects to understand changes as they occur so that you can react before a project becomes unmanageable and threatens to fail.

This business question visualizes projects in a Gantt chart. The visualization shows an overview of the project schedule from start to finish including indicators, milestones, and project dependencies. All projects are listed with their budget for the current year as well as project monitoring indicators to indicate whether the project is within the budget and resource allotment. The time indicator relates to the project milestones displayed on the time bars and indicates whether the milestones are being met and whether the project is at risk. Dependencies between projects are visualized as a black vertical line that starts with a project's end date and points to the dependent project. A dependency exists if a project must first be completed before another project can begin or if two projects are dependent on common resources or assets in the IT architecture.

Examine each project lifecycle and identify the project milestones to ensure that the project is developing on time.

Which projects require my immediate attention? Look for all projects that have an error  Error or warning  Warning indicator in the Budget, Resources, and Time columns. If issues are raised, review what the source of the issues is. For example, if a warning is raised for the budget, go to the project content area and look at the Operational Expenses view. Consider the measures required to rectify the situation by contacting stakeholders and other responsible persons.

The indicators in the Budget, Resources, and Time columns are specified in the content area of the project. Go to Monitoring > Project Evaluation.
