Start the Alfabet Server service
The Alfabet server service is installed as part of the installation procedure. The service name is the name of the server alias name specified during installation followed by Service. The server service is configured to start automatically on system restart. It only needs to be started once after installation.
A failover connection management is available for the Alfabet Server. Multiple Alfabet Server (services) can connect to the same database, but only the first connected Alfabet Server will be used to execute services, like for example sending of emails, on the database. All other Alfabet Servers will be remain inactive. If the active Alfabet Server service is either shut down or not available because of any issues, one of the other connected Alfabet Servers will take over and execution of any events handled via the Alfabet Server is consistently ensured.
- The Alfabet Server Service requires interaction with the desktop for technical reasons. This may lead to service shutdown when using a remote desktop session to the server host. If your Alfabet Server Service shuts down when disconnecting from a remote desktop session, use Windows Remote Management or remote shell to start the Alfabet Server Service.
To start the Alfabet Server Service:
- On the Web Server host, click the Start
icon that appears when you move the mouse to the lower left corner and click on the Server Manager
icon to open the Server Manager. - In the menu on the upper right of the Server Manager, select Tools > Services.
- In the Services window, select the Alfabet Server service in the list of services and click Start the service on the left of the list.
