The Goal and Strategic Theme Realization view is a nested matrix that shows the progress of the company's goals and their strategic themes. Here's how to interpret the information:

  • The top level nested box are goals and the second-level nested box are the strategic themes contributing to the goal.
  • Each strategic theme may display either matrix cells with the strategic theme's performance measures, or the programs or projects realizing the strategic theme. Click the Filter local filter button and specify the Focus of Analysis field to show either programs, projects, or performance measures.
    • If Projects is selected, evaluation is based on the % Complete indicator that reflects the overall completion status of the program. When projects are defined for a program, a Project icon is also shown. Double-click the Project icon to open a data workbench listing all projects assigned to the program. In the data workbench, a % Complete column allows users to update project-level completion values, supporting more accurate and up-to-date analysis of program progress..
    • If Programs is selected, a % Complete indicator enables quick assessment of the project's progress.
    • If Performance Measures is selected, the matrix cell will show indicators on performance measures for the strategic theme. The indicators provide information about how well strategic targets are being achieved. You may see any of the following indicators:
      • A Rating Target indicator displays a green checkmark when a performance target is met and a red X when it is not. Point to the indicator to show a tooltip with the most recent rating along with the previous rating.
      • A Rating Trend indicator visualizes whether the performance rating trend is improving, stable, or declining. Point to the indicator to show a tooltip with the date of the most recent update, as well as the previous rating and its date.
      • A Gap indicator highlights whether the gap between the current performance rating and the target is increasing or decreasing. Point to the indicator to show a tooltip with information about how the gap between rated and target values is measured and whether it is widening or narrowing.
    • Double-click any matrix cell showing performance measures to open a line chart. This chart visualizes the rated performance over time alongside the target performance over time for the selected strategic theme.
  • Sequence the data in the matrix report according to your needs. Click the Filter local filter button and specify the Sort filter.
    • Name: Order goals alphabetically on the horizontal axis and the strategic themes listed alphabetically below the goals.
    • Completeness Descending: Displays the most complete goals on the left, with their strategic themes arranged below from most to least complete. A goal's overall completeness score is based on the weighted average of the strategic themes' Actual Performance indicators and the aggregated weightings of the strategic themes and objectives contributing to the goal. The percentage of completion is shown next to the name of each goal and strategic theme.
    • Completeness Ascending: Orders goals and strategic themes from least complete to most complete.
  • Activate the Show Completeness Heatmap filter to transform the nested matrix view into a heatmap that colors goals and strategic themes by their level of completeness. Dark blue represents those with a higher percentage of completed measures and light blue the lowest percentage of completion.
  • Click the ThreeDots_Black three vertical dots button > Show Legend to understand the color coding.
